SSH Keys

Register a public key so you can connect directly to OpenResearch-managed instances from your terminal. Private keys never leave your computer.

Register from the web

Add your public SSH keys in Settings > SSH Keys. You can add multiple keys (e.g. one per device).

OpenResearch syncs registered keys to managed instances across every organization you belong to. Removing a key revokes it from those instances.

Register from the CLI

bash
orx login
orx ssh-key add
orx ssh-key list

orx login offers to register ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub. orx ssh-key add uses the same key, creating it first if you don't have one, and orx ssh-key list marks which keys this computer can use. Pass a different public-key path when needed:

bash
orx ssh-key add ~/.ssh/workstation.pub

Use your own machine

For self-managed compute, add the machine to ~/.ssh/config. The app lists those host aliases under Compute > SSH and can test the connection. Authentication uses your normal SSH keys or agent; orx does not read your private key.
